Avarebele or Averekai- kind of beans which is very famous in Karnataka, had been honored with 10 days long culinary mela at Sajjan Rao Circle, VV Puram.Avarebele comes in winters and takes place almost in every dish which takes birth in kitchen.
Sri Vasavi condiments @ Sajjan Rao Circle, was thronged by the tons of people to experience the various types of dishes prepared with this "sweetie pie of all vegetables"- Avarebele. To name some of it which I experienced are Avarebele akki roti, Avarebele dosa, avarebele vadas and last but not the least avarebele pani puri's. In the greediness of tasting more dishes of avarebeles, I had only little of every dishes and convinced my beloved companion to finish it telling her "since it is your staple food, you can easily digest it" :). We took some break from this oily & spicy treat and visited one of very renowned bakery- V.B. Bakery. Though we left with no space in our stomach but gave a single thought that why to be partial with those pastry's and cake which were tempting us more than those oily stuff. Hurriedly we purchased some stuff for home and decided to leave this store else we should not end up in gaining more calories.
We started walking down the "food street" as people call it and surprised to see the new glittening look of street. On both sides there were some or the other food stalls having their own specialities. We dropped in one small stall where fresh plain idlis and crispy dosas were selling. We tried idly there and that was unbelievably one of soft and fresh idly I ever had in my journey of life.Soon I finished one piece of idly I told stallwalla to parcel one plate for my Aunty. After this as I looked around, I could see at every stall that cook was busy preparing something of his specialities. Truly, Since all these stalls could not be visited in a day so we ended up our evening treat with Jalzeera and cooled down the system. Started my Bullet and left the Food street for my home.
